We have been
on the prowl for a piece of dogswear ( a new wordd, we thinks)
that will benefit your darling dog in both the fashion and function
stakes. And, as the legend that is Scooby Doo might say, "
Re rink re've round one, Raggy!"
Doggles are
superbly made sunglasses for dogs. Do not adjust your computer,
you read that correctly. Incredible though it sounds, many vets
and doctors agree that canine eyes need protection from the sun
just as much as ours. All Doggles boast rugged polycarbonate
(shatterproof) anti-fog lenses with 100% UV protection, and are
great for dogss with eye disorders such as pannus and light sensitivity.
Doggles are genuine doggy- health must-haves, and most dogs will
readily accept them after a short adjustment period.
Approved
by vets worldwide:
Unlike
ordinary sunglasses for dogs, Doggles actually protect dog's
eyes from foreign objects, wind, and UV light. They have been
approved by vets and vet opthalmologists (really, they do exist):
"UV rays
are just as bad for Fido as for you. Makes sense really
"
Boys Toys
"Doggles are for dogs. Because doggy eyes can't really cope
with the sun anymore than our can."
FHM
The old saying goes that people resemble their pooches. Now,
without wishing to offend anymore, putting anything on your dog
apart from a big leather collar
is going to make you look a bit of a nancy boy. These shades
had 100% UV protection, anti-fog lenses and with their wrap-around
google like fitting are perfect for keeping dirt out of Fido's
eyes when he is posing out of your car window.
WHY DOGGLES?
So what
are doggles, anyway?
Doggles are
protective eyewear for dogs. They are actually goggles for dogs,
hence the name. Unlike ordinary sunglasses for dogs, Doggles
actually protect dog's eyes from foreign objects, wind, and UV
light. They are used for rescue dogs, eyes disease, and many
more.
What do
Doggles look like?
They are modeled
after sports goggles. We currently have 5 styles of Doggles,
fitting dogs 7 pounds and up. All models have flexible, snug-fitting
frames, which have foam padding against the face; polycarbonate
(shatterproof) and anti-fog lenses; and adjustable elastic head
and chin straps to keep the Doggles securely on the dog.

Research has
shown that long hours in the sun without adequate eye protection
increases the chances of developing eye disease. UV - absorbant
sunglasses and sun googles can help protect your eyes and the
eyes of your pet from sun damage.
The American
National Standards Institute (ANSI) has set standards for UVA
and UVB protection in sungoggles. ANSI requires that a pair of
sungoggles block at least 50 percent of UV rays.
Check the label!
The ideal sundoggles do not have to eb expensive, but they should
block 99 to 100 percent of UVA and UVB radiation. Or labels read
"UV absorption up to 400 nm", which is the equivalent
of 100 percent UV absorption.
For dogs with
the increasingly common eye disease, Pannus, Doggles are proving
themselves very useful. It is well known that dogs with Pannus
should stay out of direct sun and get protection from UV light.
Doggles are a great alternative for those dogs that can't stay
inside during the day.
Doggles also
provide protection from wind and debris. Whether your dog rides
in a sidecar, on a motorcycle, or in the back of a
pickup,
he/she needs eye protection.
Most dogs will
readily accept Doggles after a short adjustment period. Training
your dog to wear the Doggles can be accomplished in a small amount
of time if you follow these easy steps:1) Don't put the Doggles
on your dog while indoors. Imagine yourself wearing dark tinted
glasses inside. You cannot see, and neither can your dog. 2)
When you first put the Doggles on your dog, don't let him paw
at the glasses or roll to get them off. Reassure him that its
okay. Take him immediately to bright sunlight and let him realize
that he can see with them on. Walk around, get his mind off the
doggles. 3) Try to go through this routine as often as ossible.
The number of training sessions required depends on your dog.
Doggles come in many styles and sizes to fit any breed of dog
from 5 pounds up to 200 pounds. Many different Colors of frames
and lenses are available.
Doggles ensure
a perfect fit by using two adjustable head straps - one behind
the head and one under the chin. The chin starp simply wraps
under your dog's chin and snaps into place. They are very simple
to use.
We care about
your dog's comfort. The straps are made of comfortable, plush
elastic. The inside of the frames are lined with foam padding.
The frames are completely flexible and will bend to wrap around
your dog's face, regardless of the shape of the face.
We pride ourselves
in our customer service. If you are not completely satisfied
with your doggles, send them abck for an exchange or full refund
of purchase price. We will do size adjustments if needed on existing
goggles. We'll act as fashion consultants for those fashion minded
dogs.
